Memory Verses for Toddlers/Preschoolers

One of the greatest things I have learned from Jim Wideman is that our greatest sermon will be our family.  I have so far to go in being intentional in investing in my children.

I have had several people ask me what verses we have taught our two little girls (ages 3 and 20 months).  I’ve had a tough time finding a lot of good resources for memory verses for preschoolers.  We’ve  kind of made it up as we’ve gone along.  Most are short parts of verses from the NIV, some are from other translations.  We say the first word or two and the girls finish it.  The baby only does a couple right now.  And we don’t do the references.  My husband laughed at me when I asked him if we should teach them to our then 18 month old.  We focus on verses that are ideas we can talk about throughout the day, use in teachable moments, and most importantly, truths that we want to sink in their hearts already.
