Kidmin Conference 2012: Don’t Miss

We are getting closer to fall which means we are closer to Kidmin Conference 2012!  This conference is in Chicago and is September 28 – October 1.  Let me tell you why I love it and why you should come:

1.  Relationships:  Kidmin Conference is different because while there are tons of opportunities to learn, there are even more opportunities to connect with other kidmin people.  From my experience last year, only half of the content that God wants you to learn exists in the presenters and general sessions.  You will learn just as much from other people through connect groups, ministry conversations and lots of other opportunities.

2.  Content:  Kidmin is unique in that you can truly craft your own experience.  Learning opportunities are broken into deeper learning tracks (8 hours of content), half tracks (4 hours of content), and workshops (2 hours).  So for example, if there is a topic that you know you really need to focus on, you can really dive in.

3.  Fun people:  Group works to bring in really good speakers and leaders, but also focuses on who those people really are.  All speakers are asked to hang out for the whole conference and to hang out like a normal person. 🙂  You can learn from some of my favorites… Jim Wideman, Gina McClain, Jonathan Cliff, Kenny Conley, Matt McKee, Danielle Bell, and more!

4.  I want to meet you.  I had the privilege of meeting and hanging out with so many new friends last year, many of whom I’m still in touch with now.  I also get the opportunity to teach a half-track on discipline and would love your insights. 🙂

So, go sign up today and I’ll see you in Chicago!

  1. I signed up for the KidMin conference this year. I have only attended one other conference before and it was through Lifeway. I am SO looking forward to this one. I have heard so many great things about it. Plus I just finished reading your article “who’s your Paul?”. It was very good and I do need a Paul in my life. Maybe I’ll find one at the conference.

  2. Hi Jenny – I am Children’s church coordinator in Seattle, Wa. I am trying to decide if I will attend the KidMin conference. I have a lot on my plate – starting graduate school in Sept. I feel isolated. I really need to meet and make lasting friendships in the Children’s church ministry world. Thanks for your blog. Please keep me lifted in prayer. God bless!!!

    1. Hi Rosemary!
If you there is any way you can make it to KidMin you need to go! I’ve never seen a conference where relationships are so much the focus like they are at kidmin. You can get great content, but there are so many natural opportunities to meet others. I highly encourage you to sign up and hope to see you there. 🙂 Let me know if you decide to go. I would love to meet you!
